very sincere in their intentions and marry only out of love. However, there
are those few with the intention of marrying only to obtain a green card.
This is where the "Conditional Status" comes in. This policy was
put in place by the INS to detour those that are only after a Green Card, it
works like this: after your wife receives her green card, which is usually
two months after her arrival into the US, it will have "Conditional
Status". This means it is only valid for two years, she must remain
married during that time, until her "Removal of Conditonal Status"
is approved. At this point she will become a permanent resident with no
conditional status. This two year waiting period is more than enough time for
you to determine her sincerity or intentions. When writing to your lady, use
your own judgment and trust your instincts, look at the content of her
letters, if she writes openly about her family, her letters are lengthy, and
she's non evasive in answering your questions, then she is more than likely
sincere. Short letters are an indication that there are other men. This does
not mean that you should stop writing, just don't put all your
"stock" in one girl unless you are certain that she is all yours.
